If plants could talk, I’m pretty sure some of mine would whisper, “Oh no… it’s her again.”
And honestly? Fair.
Welcome to Southern Grown with Jess, a gardening blog for beginners who don’t have it all figured out — yet. This is for the people who Google “why is my plant turning yellow” at midnight, forget to water things, overwater things, and occasionally stare at a sad plant wondering where it all went wrong.
Here’s the thing:
Gardening doesn’t have to be perfect to be successful.
You don’t need a magazine-worthy garden. You don’t need fancy tools. You don’t need to pretend you’ve never killed a plant. If anything, plant casualties are kind of a rite of passage.
This space is about:
- 🌱 Beginner gardening that actually makes sense
- 🌱 Honest advice instead of judgment
- 🌱 Real-life gardening in Middle Tennessee (Zone 7b)
- 🌱 Learning through trial, error, and humor
I share what works, what didn’t work, and what I’m still figuring out — because that’s real gardening. Not everything thrives. Not every season is magical. And that’s okay.
If you want gardening without pressure…
Without perfection…
Without pretending…
You belong here.
Because if my plants can survive me, there’s hope for anyone.
